How to Install Mac OS X Snow Leopard on a PC with EmpireEFIv1085.iso
If you want to experience the Mac OS X operating system on your PC, you can use a bootable ISO file called EmpireEFIv1085.iso to install Snow Leopard on your Intel-based computer. This guide will show you how to do it step by step.
Download the following files:
A Mac OS X Snow Leopard Retail DVD or ISO file. You may need to search for it on the Internet.
EmpireEFIv1085.iso for Intel Processors. This is the boot loader we will be using to boot Mac. You can download it from here [^1^] or here [^6^]. Make sure you download the correct version for your CPU.
VirtualBox. This is the software we will be using to create a virtual machine for Mac OS X. You can download it from here.
Install VirtualBox on your PC and run it.
Create a new virtual machine with the following settings:
Name: Mac OS X Snow Leopard
Type: Mac OS X
Version: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard (64-bit)
Memory: 2048 MB or more
Hard disk: Create a virtual hard disk now
Hard disk file type: VDI (VirtualBox Disk Image)
Storage on physical hard disk: Dynamically allocated
File location and size: Choose a location and size for your virtual hard disk. 15 GB is the minimum, but 40 GB or more is recommended.
Click Create to finish creating the virtual machine.
Select the virtual machine and click Settings.
In the System tab, make sure the following options are checked:
Enable I/O APIC
Enable PAE/NX
Enable VT-x/AMD-V
Enable Nested Paging
In the Processor tab, set the number of processors to 1 or more, depending on your CPU.
In the Display tab, set the video memory to 128 MB or more.
In the Storage tab, click on the Empty CD/DVD icon under Controller: IDE.
Click on the CD/DVD icon next to Optical Drive and choose Choose a Disk File.
Browse to the location of EmpireEFIv1085.iso and select it. Click Open.
Click OK to save the settings.
Start the virtual machine by clicking Start.
You should see a screen with Empire EFI boot loader. Press F5 to refresh the list of bootable devices.
Select CD/DVD and press Enter.
You should see a screen with Apple logo and spinning wheel. Wait for a few minutes until you see a language selection screen.
Select your language and click Next.
Go to Utilities menu and select Disk Utility.
Select your virtual hard disk on the left pane and click Erase tab on the right pane.
Select Mac OS Extended (Journaled) as the format and name it as Macintosh HD. Click Erase button and confirm.
Close Disk Utility and go back to the installer screen.
Select Macintosh HD as the destination disk and click Continue.
Click Customize and uncheck any unnecessary packages. Click OK and then Install.
The installation process will begin. It may take some time depending on your system speed. When it finishes, click Restart button.
The virtual machine will reboot and you will see Empire EFI boot loader again. Press F5 to refresh the 061ffe29dd
